Spay/Neuter Surgery Costs

Spay/neuter surgical costs cover the surgery, anesthesia, all pain management medication your pet will need both during and after the surgical procedure, an antibiotic injection, and a free follow up visit to check the incision. Our costs differ from full-service veterinary clinics because we are a federally recognized 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization. Our veterinarians are not volunteers or veterinary students. They are licensed veterinarians who have more than 40 years of combined experience. We do not utilize the services of volunteer veterinarians, veterinary school students, or recent veterinary school graduates to perform spay or neuter surgical procedures.

Our clinic experiences price increases in our surgery supply costs at least twice a year.  For the past 6 years we have been fortunate enough not to pass any of our increases on to our clients. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has changed that for us.  In April 2020 we had to close for five weeks as we were not able to purchase the medical supplies necessary to perform surgery. Our temporary closure resulted in more unwanted animals being born, more pet owners surrendering animals, and more financial uncertainty for our supporters and donors. Medical supply costs are greater than they have ever been. This coupled with a steady decline in donations over the last nine months makes an increase in our surgery prices inevitable.  Starting January our surgery prices will increase by $5. Our surgery prices starting January 1, 2021, will be as follows:

Female Dogs* (60lbs and under) = $85

Male Dogs* (60lbs and under) = $70

Female Cats = $70

Male Cats = $50

* Dogs 61-80lbs are an additional $10. Dogs 81-100lbs are an additional $20. Please call for prices for dog over 100lbs.
